Every year the city of Valencia lives the Holy Week of the Sea with enthusiasm and devotion. This festivity in the capital of the Turia is experienced differently from the rest of Spain: in Valencia it has a flavor of the sea.
And it is that, it is called marinera because it has its origin in the faith of the fishermen and sailors who lived from fishing at the beginning of the 18th century. Since then, every year the residents of the Valencian maritime towns, Cabanyal, Grao and Canyamelar, live their big festival in parishes, streets and houses. They relive the passion, death and resurrection of Christ through a complete program of exciting and surprising acts for those who enjoy them.
When, where and how is the 2022 Maritime Holy Week celebrated?

The Marine Holy Week 2022 is celebrated from April 7 to 17 in the Valencian neighborhoods that live next to the Mediterranean: Grau, Cabanyal and Canyamelar.
This tradition has been declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest and has a large number of brotherhoods that celebrate popular events, among which three processions stand out:
Holy Thursday (April 14, 2022): procession known as the Visit of the Monuments or the Tamborada, where music in the bands takes on special importance.
Good Friday (April 15, 2022): also known as the Holy Burial. It is the moment of greatest silence in mourning.
Easter Sunday (April 17, 2022): also called The Parade. It is the most colorful act flooded by the joy of the resurrection.
